Today the psalmist declares that our God’s mercy, grace, patience, and love are not vague concepts but concrete realities that deserve a response of praise and blessing. We bless his name today, trusting that his unchanging character gives us assurance even before our circumstances change.

This call to repentance in Joel reminds us that no matter how far someone strays, God’s character remains the same. He remains slow to anger and will never run out of steadfast love.
